FILMDECK FOR SAMSUNG G65B 1.0.0
Target monitor: LS27BG652ENXGO
Complete live guide and help: https://filmdeck-samsung.pages.dev/

This is an unsigned development app. Samsung requires a device-specific certificate before installation. No profiles.

LET’S GET IT ON YOUR MONITOR

A little setup. Then just press play.

Start on your Windows PC. Keep this page open on your phone while
 following the monitor steps.

What’s ready: the app, Windows helper, and these
instructions. Physical installation and Samsung-native playback
still need to be verified on your monitor.

 01

 Download and unpack FilmDeck

-
Click Download for Windows setup above. Save
the ZIP to your Downloads folder.

-
In File Explorer, right-click the ZIP and choose
 Properties. If you see an
Unblock checkbox near the bottom, check it and
click Apply. This removes the downloaded-file mark from this
 copy only.

-
Right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All,
then Extract. Open the extracted folder, not the ZIP preview.

-
 You’ll see Start-Setup.cmd,
 Setup-FilmDeck.ps1, an
App folder, and an offline guide. Keep them
 together.

-
 Double-click Start-Setup.cmd. A FilmDeck setup
window opens. Leave it open while completing the next steps.

The helper is readable PowerShell, not a signed Windows installer.
It uses RemoteSigned for its own process only. If your computer
blocks scripts, use the manual installation route below instead of
 changing system-wide security settings.

Put the PC and monitor on the same network

-
 On the monitor, open its
Smart Hub / Home screen using the monitor
remote. Switch away from the PC’s HDMI or DisplayPort picture if
 necessary.

-
 Open
Settings → All Settings → Connection → Network → Network
Status → IP Settings. On some firmware, Network is under General instead of
 Connection.

-
Write down the monitor’s IP address, for
example 192.168.1.50. Use its home-network address, not a public
 internet address.

-
Enter that address in the FilmDeck setup window. The helper
displays the PC address it would use to reach the monitor.
You’ll enter that PC address into Developer Mode next.

-
Both devices must use the same home router. Wired Ethernet on
the PC and Wi-Fi on the monitor is fine. Avoid guest Wi-Fi,
client isolation, and a VPN connection during setup.

 Enable Samsung’s Developer Mode

- On the monitor’s Home screen, open Apps.

-
Open Apps Settings if it is listed within Apps,
 then enter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 with the remote’s
number buttons. If the remote has a 123 button
instead, use its onscreen number pad. This should open the
 Developer Mode dialog.

-
Set Developer Mode to On. In
 Host PC IP, enter the
PC address shown by the helper, not the
 monitor’s address.

-
Confirm and restart the monitor as requested. If a normal
power-button press only puts it in standby, turn it off, unplug
 power briefly, then reconnect it.

- Return to Apps and verify Developer Mode remains enabled.

Use the normal Apps screen, not the service menu. If 12345 does
nothing, check Apps Settings within Samsung Apps. Older firmware
may accept the sequence directly on the Apps panel. Do not use a
PC window or the app search box. See
 Samsung’s TV device setup.

 04

Install Samsung’s tools on the PC

-
 Download the
Windows 64-bit Tizen Studio 6.1 installer
 (about 660 MB) from
the official Tizen download server. Keep the default folder, C:\tizen-studio,
unless you have a reason to change it.

-
Open Tizen Studio Package Manager. Install the
web app tools and, under Extension SDK, the
 Samsung TV Extension and
 Samsung Certificate Extension. Package labels
vary by SDK release. These are Samsung’s development tools, not
 a monitor firmware update.

-
 The current
 Samsung TV Extension page
has the supported packages and installation references. You do
not need to run a TV emulator for this installation.

-
Return to FilmDeck setup. Confirm the Tizen Studio folder is
correct, then click Check connection. Allow
Samsung’s SDB tool on your private home network if Windows
 Firewall asks.

-
Open Samsung’s Device Manager, add a remote
device using the monitor IP and port 26101, and
connect it. Keep the monitor powered on.

An already-installed SDK is fine if it includes
 tools\sdb.exe, tools\ide\bin\tizen.bat,
the Samsung TV Extension, and the certificate tools. No Node.js or
Python installation is needed on your PC.

Create a certificate for your monitor

-
 In Tizen Studio, open
Tools → Certificate Manager and choose the plus
 button to create a profile.

-
 Choose Samsung, then TV. Name
the certificate profile FilmDeck so it matches
 the helper.

-
Create a new author certificate. Use your own name and a
password you’ll keep securely. Sign into
your own Samsung account when Samsung’s tool
 asks.

-
Create the distributor certificate and add the connected
monitor’s DUID. The wizard can list connected
devices; select this G65B. If it does not appear, return to
Device Manager and reconnect the monitor.

-
Finish the wizard and make the FilmDeck certificate profile
active. In Device Manager, if the monitor’s context menu offers
Permit to install applications, select it.

Keep the author certificate for future updates. Never upload its
private key or password here. The distributor certificate must
include this monitor’s DUID; a generic Tizen certificate or
someone else’s device certificate will not work.

 Install, open, and check playback

-
In FilmDeck setup, verify the monitor IP, SDK folder, and
 certificate profile name FilmDeck.

-
Click Install FilmDeck. The helper checks the
app files, asks Samsung’s tool to sign the app, installs it over
the network, and sends the launch command.

-
Look at the monitor. FilmDeck should open on Home. If it
doesn’t, check Apps for FilmDeck and launch it there. If
offered, add it to Home for easy access.

-
Open a film and play it briefly. Check the picture, audio,
pause, seeking, and Back. Then try a series episode.
Samsung-native playback has to be confirmed on the actual
monitor; a browser preview alone cannot prove it.

-
After installation succeeds, close the setup helper. The PC does
not need to stay on for FilmDeck to run. The monitor still needs
 internet access.

The helper displays Samsung’s actual command result and bounded
 diagnostics. “Launch accepted” means the SDK accepted the command;
the monitor’s picture is the final check.

The monitor install and native playback must be checked on the actual device. Do not share private certificate files or passwords.
